Imagine
a Holiday, where each day starts with a spectacular view of the beautiful
Cornish coast - then contact the The
Bay Hotel Port Isaac
The visitor will find many nooks and crannies such as Squeezy Belly Alley and The Bloody Bones Cellar once used for storing contraband with a tunnel leading onto the beach. On Thursday evening delight in the music provided by The St Breward Silver Band and dance your way up the hill to The Floral Dance! Throughout the summer we have our very own Fishermans Friends who have recorded two albums and will entertain you on the Platt singing from a varied selection of Sea Shanty's. You will be assured of a warm welcome from the locals, we have many real "Characters" in our village! The village stubbornly refuses to change - a peaceful haven to while away the time and watch the world go by, but when the fishing boats come in and the catch is laden this is time of activity. Port Isaac remains a very well kept secret among its devotees. This wonderful Heritage coastal area has long been an inspiration for writers, artists and poets, this is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Cornwall with its high cliffs and rugged coastline rising to Bodmin Moor with its wide open spaces razed by horses and sheep alike.
Nearby places to visit include the legendary King Arthurs Castle at Tintagel, the pretty village of Boscastle. Polzeath, considered to be one of the finest surfing beaches in the country (you can hire wet suits and boards and also have tuition for as little as £16). The nearby village of Rock offers water skiing and sailing of all kinds. Cycling along the famous Camel Trail is extremely popular. The South West coastal path attracts walkers from around the world throughout the year. Port Isaac is an ideal base for exploring all of Cornwall. The Eden Project is within easy reach as is The Lost Gardens of Heligan along with many other famous National Trust owned gardens and Houses. Spring and Autumn in Cornwall are very special times of year. Spring with its early flowering hedgerows of Box and wild primrose along the winding country lanes. Autumn with its aroma of hearth fires and winter flowering jasmine offer an atmosphere of peace and quiet of yesteryear, ideal for a break away from town life. The much improved roads from all areas make Cornwall accessible for a weekend or stays all year round. |
